Here are some examples of good profile pictures for use on social media, and LinkedIn in particular, as well as tendencies that should be avoided.





☑️Plain, unobtrusive background
(background colours that do not attract attention, such as white, off-white, and light grey)
☑️Background that reminds of business such as office buildings is acceptable
☑️Natural light, without excessive production
☑️Resolution high enough for close viewing
☑️The focus of the photo is on the face
☑️Good posture (no stooping or unnatural poses)
☑️Large enough that the entire face can be seen clearly
(so that the viewer’s focus is on the upper third of the photo)
☑️The person in the photograph is looking at the camera
☑️Graceful expression that gives a positive impression, and a natural smile
☑️Attire that adheres to the Dress Code*

- Scenery is displayed in the background.

- The company’s name and logo are displayed in the background.
- The person in the picture is too far back, and their face is small.

- The photo is not properly focused, and the person’s image is blurry.
